Science & Technology for Women/Entrepreneurship and Technology Demonstration
The department is undertaking the steps for training of local women with the provision for self employment by setting up of production Units for Sanitary Napkins, Envelopes, Spices, recycling papers, etc. One of the most successful program under science and technology for women is production Units for Sanitary Napkins located at the Departments Directorate, Kohima by the department with the technical support from Gandhigram Khadi and Village Industries Public Charitable Trust, Dindugul, Tamil Nadu.
The main objective of the project is to maintain healthy environment, and also produce quality based, cost effective, hygienic and easily decomposable sanitary napkins, and diapers in large scale and give self employment to the women sector in the state.
