Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) in Plastic Technology
Science & Technology Department is also undertaking various techniques in Plastic Technology for the young entrepreneurs in the state especially on Fibre Reinforced Plastics (FRP). To give physical assistance to the local entrepreneurs it is proposed to acquire the composites in the form of Glass Fibres and Plastic Resins. Products will be like bath tub, dust bins, flower pots, sink, chairs, tables, stalls and many more.
During 2010-2011 the Department had conducted training in Plastic Technology in the later part of November 2010, where many educated youths participated in the programme. Theory and practical classes were successfully conducted along with a meaningful exposure visit to Plastic manufacturing Units, Plastic recycling Units, Unit for Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and Mini Tool Room. The training was conducted in collaboration with CIPET, Imphal.
