Popularisation and Dissemination of Bio-Pesticide Formulations among the Poor and Marginal Farmers of NE Region
The system of agriculture in Nagaland is organic by default. However, post the Green revolution, the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides among the farmers have been seeing at an increasing rate. Retaining the organic agriculture system is the correct key for sustainable agricultural development in the state. As a step towards this pursue, NASTEC put up a collaborative research programme proposal with Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bangalore; Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat; North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong. The project is funded by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. It is successfully launched and in progress.
