Pilot Scale Optimisation for Standardization of Processing and Agro Technologies of Selected High Value Aromatic & Medicinal Plants including Technology Demonstration and Extension for Socio-Economic Upliftment
Nagaland has a pool of medicinal herbs and plants, the knowledge of which also vary from one tribal community to another. Indigenous species of aromatic plants are found to be richly distributed within the vegetation of Nagaland. However, systematic documentation and research is still very rudimentary in this field of study. Cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants for commercial production can bring about socio-economic upliftment of the regional farmers in a big way. Keeping this focus in our activity, NASTEC forwarded a twinning project proposal in collaboration with Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu & Kashmir for support and funding from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The project is in progress.
