Land Degradation Mapping - 2nd Cycle
Land Degradation implies a temporary or permanent recession from a higher to a lower status of productivity through deterioration of physical, chemical and biological aspects. It is needed for a variety of purposes like planning reclamation programs, national land use planning, and bringing additional areas into cultivation and also to improve the productivity levels in degraded lands. The objective of this project is to map and monitor the land degradation on 1:50,000 scale and to have a baseline information and to identify the different types of land degradation.
