NASTEC nurtures a vision that proper tapping of our bioresources can bring about sustainable development for the people in the long run. Nagaland occupies a unique location within the biodiversity hotspot of the world harboring, very rich varieties of flora and fauna. Literature data and our own survey show that many of these plants and animals are yet to be scientifically identified and materialize for human uses. Research and development based on these rich resources may perhaps give the right answer to boost the socio-economic upliftment of the people of this region and beyond in the near future. It is, therefore, pertinent to develop strategic approach to explore these resources in a eco-friendly manner.
Taking initiative towards realizing our common vision this division takes up research and development programmes in area of life sciences with special emphasis to identification of location specific bioresource and development.
